SAP Utilities Billing Specialist

The SAP Utilities Billing Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting billing and customer accounting solutions within SAP IS-U environments for utility industry operations. This role involves managing billing processes, configuring customer financial accounting functionalities, and ensuring accurate invoicing, payment processing, and revenue management across utility business operations. The specialist collaborates with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams to deliver scalable and efficient SAP Utilities solutions aligned with organizational requirements. By leveraging expertise in IS-U Billing and FICA, the SAP Utilities Billing Specialist plays a key role in streamlining utility billing operations, improving financial processes, and supporting digital transformation initiatives within the utilities domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and support SAP IS-U Billing solutions for utility business operations.
• Manage utility billing processes including invoicing, rate configuration, and bill generation.
• Configure and maintain SAP FICA functionalities related to payments, collections, and customer financial accounting.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP Utilities solutions.
• Support integration between SAP IS-U Billing and other SAP/non-SAP systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve billing, invoicing, and financial accounting issues within SAP Utilities environments.
• Collaborate with business users, functional consultants, and technical teams during implementation and enhancement projects.
• Ensure system performance, compliance, and adherence to SAP best practices and utility industry standards.
• Participate in testing, deployment, migration, and production support activities.
• Support ongoing maintenance, optimization, and process improvement initiatives within SAP Utilities operations.

Core Skills Required:

ISU Billing: Strong understanding of SAP IS-U Billing processes, configuration, invoicing, and utility customer billing management.

FICA (Financial Contract Accounting): Expertise in SAP FICA functionalities including payment processing, collections, receivables management, and customer account management.
